BUDGETING

common MYTHS & budgeting buzz-kills

The word budgeting makes you feel physically uncomfortable (something akin to hives perhaps?)

The thought of a budget makes you angry or frustrated!

Budgets are for other people - that they won't work for you!

You just don't know what the big deal is! Who cares if you make one or not? Budgets not that important!

A budget feels restrictive: "If I have a budget I can't do anything; I'll never have any fun."

4 Truths That Will Change How You Feel About Budgeting

1.  A budget gives you control over your money. Instead of trying to figure out where your money went at the end of the month, a budget allows you to tell your money where to go and what to do. You call the shots! A good budget empowers you, it doesn't hinder you.

2. Budgets don't keep you from having fun because guess what, you can BUDGET THE FUN MINUS THE GUILT! Guilt comes into play when you spend money meant to pay rent on a pair of pants that you just had to have or the newest tech gadget. If it's in the budget, there's no guilt. A client of mine went so far as to call his budget a "FUNget" because it allowed him to have fun each month without feeling guilty.

3. If you think "budgets are only for people with those kinds of brains" or "I'm just not wired that way." I have news that will make you feel 1000% better.  Are you ready?  IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, IT'S THE BUDGET'S!! Thinking budgeting isn't for you is a hint that you haven't found budgeting style that works - yet

4. If you want to have control over your money, be financially free, retire in comfort then a budget is key. Think of it as your blueprint to financial security and wealth. It's the GPS you design (and follow!) to reach your deepest financial desires, whether it's saving for an emergency, taking off on those bucket list adventures, buying your dream home or retiring comfortably.

If you're don't know where to start OR haven't yet learned what type of a budget works for you OR have tried and given up...That's what I'm here for.  Let's talk!
